Sailing year round doesn't require a cockpit enclosure. I have one of those, but don't use it underway, even in below-freezing temperatures.

I use a full body enclosure: survival suit, parka, toque and mittens!

And nervous. I haven't really been sleeping a lot lately in anticipation of this sale, I don't feel like a will until I deliver her myself to her new berth in Boston and have her tucked away nicely for the winter.

RIGHT ON! You made my day - I was begining to think all we had out there were sellers!
You cant go wrong with an old Cal - the only thing I see wrong is it's made out of FIBERGLASS!

Re: I Just Bought a Boat !

1983 CAL Cal 35 Sail Boat For Sale - www.yachtworld.com

This is essentially the same boat. I got mine at a ridiculously low price due to the decks setting off the surveyor's moisture reader. Funny I thought all boat decks from 1983 had water in them.

Whatever, I am a happy camper and will be tending to re-bedding things this fall. So totally stoked. I am going to put her in the water tomorrow and start moving aboard immediately. Bye bye house!
