Hurricane Season Moorage Florida Ft. Myers

Looking for a safe place to store a 42' Catamaran in the Ft. Myers or Tampa area June - November 2016. We will be out of state most of that time. We have heard that some private homes with docks on canals is a good option. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

In the water storage at port la belle, a few more miles east gets you to glades boat storage, both are about 60 miles east up the Caloosahatche from fort Myers beach

Frankly, almost anyplace at all on the Caloosahatchee will suffice in all but the very worst of the worst. There are miles of distance and miles of mangrove to slow down the surge. Even Cape Harbour Marina in Cape Coral, the very last marina at the end of the river, had very good insurance rates for year-round stays. From an actuarial perspective, Ft. Myers (not Ft. Myers Beach) is a safe area.
