Oh David Old Jersey....
I can assure you that I know all that needs to be known about women.

Yes, Celetialsailor, I am very much a woman which is why I state the truth.

For all men/sailors, want to be keepers of women...Listen carefully.

Pay attention to the little things she desires, play into her heart and feed her soul freely. For this is how you "afford" to keep a woman. She should "run" just fine for her own good, not yours, but provide you with great pleasure and companionship if you indeed learn the ropes.

Re: How Much Does a Woman Cost to Run ?

Cheaper than running a man! Lord do you forget your gadgets and toys so quickly?
most sailor gals are a simple lot, taking pleasure from the rolling offshore wave or the tropical breeze blowing through her hair, content to bob at anchor in a quiet cove.... Of course, a nice oversized snatch block would be great, and lots and lots of quilted tp, and what would cruising be without a dodger.. Ok maybe we are high maintenance, but you are too!
Nut said, I mean nuf said ( darn spell check)

Re: How Much Does a Woman Cost to Run ?

Well said, Ocean Girl... my better half has been telling me this for years and I'm now just beginning to understand of what she speaks! I look around at the tools and toys and thingamajigs I've spent a fortune on over the years then look look at what she has aquired... no contest! I win hands down. Perhaps I'm fortunate to have a 'low maitenance' partner... the scary thing is we agree on almost everything! Capt Phil

The reason I asked was your sexiest comment about men ...
"but then from what I seen in life men who run away tend to leave behind them sexsualy transmited debt, kids ,, for the woman to deal with"...

Without going into "who does what" gender related, I can tell you Human nature knows no gender boundaries. There are flakes on both sides and fine examples of loving people on both sides.
It's a Universe of attraction. You only get what you have coming. If you think the opposite sex is going to be harmful...then you get harmed. If you're sick and tired of attracting the same old BS type relationships in your life, change your thinking and you will attract something different. Pie in the sky demands on the opposite sex will not change didilly with the outcome.

IME flowers work out of all proportion to what dying plant life should . But generally any demonstration that you have been thinking about them does the trick . (words are nice, but doing is far better )....double bonus points for being interested in them / what they say or think . Even better if it is true (IMO that essential for a keeper ).

...........says the bloke who once lived with a woman for 3 months and which ended shortly after she discovered that I didn't know her name . her first name (to be fair, after a couple of weeks it does become a bit awkward to ask - and not as if any great thought went into the arrangement, and besides we weren't exactly sober, during the entire relationship. and after a couple of weeks being able to call her by name not really important . FWIW, "Boss" always seems to work well as a pet nickname (well, it did for 3 months ) - always use the same pet name and it avoids confusion, including during any periods of "overlap".........

Unsurprisingly I have been punched a few times by women .

Re: How Much Does a Woman Cost to Run ?

The financial cost of women can range from manageable to painful, the mental anguish cost is astronomical.

Men for women are simple to understand as we are, yes, no, black or white.

Women on the other hand have many, many shades between of yes/no and black/white. An then there are occasions a yes actually means a no and visa versa. "yes dear, you may go to the strip club with your mates"

The true cost is a lifetime of

Women cost you your sanity

ROFL who said what
FWIW The statement was made by me, errr i checked with my passport and girlfriend. They both tell me i am male and my name is justwaiting,
BTW google sexsualy transmitted debt, it is a commonly used term and was always a play of words on STD. Asuming that i was female just goes to show the level of sterotyping that underpins this thread.

As for your advice "you only get what you have coming" that explains why i have had great ladies in my life. It also may explain why some of the guys on the thread make the bitter and twisted comments - they have attracted the females they deserve.

Re: How Much Does a Woman Cost to Run ?

Ah sure ! Women are like Hurricanes, they come on all hot, steamy and wet and when they've passed they take your house with them....I spent £3,000 in adverts trying to find one before I sailed off into the sunset. I met loads of fruitcakes, users and time wasters, the research was fun but I sailed alone ! read the chapter 'Finding a Lady' in the book 'How to Enjoy Cruising In Retirement' from Amazon Kindle.

Exactly my point and true for either gender.

Re: How Much Does a Woman Cost to Run ?

Celestial sailor.
I got a younger blond for a 3 month sh,,,,ing cruise, read 'How To Enjoy Cruising in Retirement' for the full picture, then a coupla practice runs on the sly to keep things in good working order, as you do. Then after a year alone I met a French lady, you can see her in 'How to Cruise between two Sea's' on Amazon Kindle. Since then we cruise the French canals and on down the Spanish coast, in fact we just cruise wherever the notion takes us. Be Happy.
