Well rip my skin off with 200 grit paper and a rusty nail! I forgot I am staying at my sisters house for two weeks looking after their animals whilst they go on holiday...........

OK..... back in the vehicle and head down the road.........
On the positive side........ naah.

LOL!! That is hilarious! That would be me. My husband I s the captain & I usually got all the fun jobs-get in the cold water to clean off the critters or go up the mast. Of course, I am the strange one who loves those jobs! Guess it works 😎

Sailing is not an end state, it is a state of becoming ......

OK that was somewhat precious.

But I still like the tag on my signature.

Our dear Canadian cousins have a wonderful way with words,

I like precious.. it evokes a much milder reactive sensation to a statement that contains words that affect greater importance than they actually possess. It belongs to a bygone era when people were actually nice to each other and remonstrated gently to bring an erring one into line by soft persuasion without hurting feelings.

What can I say........ I like words.

Re: How Many Have Sailed Offshore

While I stood on the shore and looked out to sea
I saw the blue world and strongly I did feel

If only I could get out there it would then change me
So I laid a thousand miles under my keel.

Back at shore amongst friends, it all felt the same
All the boredom and things that I couldn't change

So I decided to return to the ocean once again
I would sail more miles and further I would range.

10,000 miles later and the sights that I have seen
I return to land and people I knew well

I want to go back to the places I've been
This time I will learn what the sea has to tell.

Ive stopped counting miles, they really matter little
I only learned what that boy once on shore knew

You return with what you left with and life is still a riddle
The sea is not a teacher just a large expanse of blue.

Re: How Many Have Sailed Offshore

and further more: can you qualify this artistically poetice prose with the addition of stating that you have been more than 200 miles offshore?

Can you? Can you? The OP wants to know.

Downloaded SeaClear and cpn....
Dont have a gps attached but figured I could look it over.

So far totally lost.......... do I have to purchase maps of the UK and the western med or am I missing something. Am I wasting my time or is it a viable product?
Very close to opening a beer and sticking on the BBq.......sigh.
