Hi, I’m new here but love this forum. I am getting ready to buy my first liveaboard boat. I know the importance of bottom paint. My question is , if I buy a boat that’s been used maybe in the water now, I live on east coast of Florida , would it be awful to wait a few months to bottom paint it? Say it hasn’t been painted in 2 years. Just would like some opinions. Thanks

Shouldn't be a problem unless you can see a whole forest growing under the boat. Do you plan to sail it or only live on it? Perhaps a potentially bigger issue than the condition of the bottom paint could be buying a boat without hauling it to see what else might be going on down there. But, the answer to that likely depends on the selling price and how comfortable you are with risk.

Welcome to the forum, Ron! Let us know how it goes with the boat purchase. Thanks, I plan on having a survey done , I need to for insurance and I do plan on using the boat . But trying to save a little cash at the moment. The boat is a good purchase but more than I wanted to spend. That’s the reason for foregoing the bottom paint for now.
