Wanna make sommin of it? Bling Bling” when the adult starts to walk towards the young lad, the young lad pisses himself and runs off to either his pregnant 14-year-old girlfriend or his brother in the army crying his eyes out.

My mate has become a chav what can i do?

As a medic in the USA, Im became familiar with gunshot wounds. I was in Detroit for a while in 2006. In Florida I have a CCW.

The CHAV culture has spread mightily in the UK... Older CHAVS will key your car, raid your house, beat up your kids and try to breed with your daughter. As they get older and drugs enter the picture, it all gets nastier.

Its a world wide phenomenon, emphasised in the West or where corruption has taken hold.

There are no answers.

And, I'd like to add a hats off to the Royal New Zealand Navy, who via extreme powers of persuasion convinced a French flagged yachtie to desert his boat at Raoul Island and get the heck out of the way of Severe Tropical Cyclone Pam as it headed over the Kermadecs and towards NZ

Well done sirs, and thank you so much for saving his life--how terribly difficult it must have been for him to leave his yacht. Perhaps it survived, and he can get back to it--GDI, I hope so!

I got bumped to one side a couple of years ago entering the US due to an overstay of an expired visa (in 1972!). My wife was with me and she sat next to me.When I was called, she got up to come forward with me (there were no problems with her entry) the Immigration woman literally screamed:

Now my wife is probably more fluent in English than the immigration officer, she speaks 4 languages fluently and 4-5 others on a conversational level, took her masters in english, so if the immigration woman wanted only me, she could have said so in a polite manner (I also speak fluent english and at one point years ago taught english writing and grammar at an American University).

Having said that - I also have had a good experience coming through St. Louis.

But the US Immigration authorities could send their people on a "Tact and Manners" course.

I am not rejecting your experience, but I have to say that I have experienced nothing but Courtesy from US authorities, worst border control in the world in my humble experience is without doubt my own, Australia is almost always a pain to enter be it by plane or boat.

US immigration attitudes that I have experienced, is pretty poor at Airports, Embassies and anywhere requiring a "permission". Australia was fine except if you are Australian for some reason.........India was brutal unless you had filled the forms correctly and in triplicate then there was nothing they would not do for you.

The epaulette in the middle of the chest is a great touch (note the word epaulette was borrowed into English from French in 1783; French epaulette means 'shoulder'; the person doing the borrowing was a bloke from the Nelson family. Nelson rose to a respectable rank in the RN even though guilty of war crimes).

I love a easily seen aiming mark in the middle of the chest. Makes putting two to the chest, one to the head a lot easier.

I note that one poster was offered a case of beer by the RN. No wonder they are more jovial than US officials. If Dockhead installs his gin tank they might even crew for him��. Civilized indeed.
