I added them. I think they are the Atlantic model by Weems and Plath. I've had a lot of oil lamps over the years but if I remember correctly these are the ones that didn't hang exactly right at first. It seemed they weren't weighted correctly. So I melted some lead fishing sinkers and poured some additional lead into those bottom bases. They worked perfectly after that. Believe it or not the mirrors behind really helped to reflect the light. I think I may have gotten the idea from a Bruce Bingham book.

I should add that the wick on the Atlantic lamp was pretty narrow so they weren't as bright as some other lamps. They were fine on that small boat, but we are planning to add a couple of oil lamps on our 33 also and we're going to go with the cabin lamp which as a wider wick.

If a person is nuts to refit a classic, what do you call someone who is working on two?
I have a '72 Buchan 37 and a '70 (ish) Aleutka 25. My main regret is that I do not have the skills to do all the work myself. If I did I might be working on 4 boats.
The Buchan 37s Isuzu diesel has been rebuilt, the deck and hull re-painted, new berths, the keel bolts replaced, rudder re-built etc. Unfortunately when finished she will have to be sold. Anyone in the PNW interested in buying a fast cruiser that literally can sail circles around a Hunter 35. I have the pics to prove it.
The Aleutka 25 is getting a new galley, water tank, nav lights, deck and hull repainted, berths, solar panel, etc Hopefully she will soon be ready for the Baja.

Here's our baby; a 1977 Rafiki-37. She's a classic "leaky-teaky" built in the heyday of hand crafted Taiwanese boats. Full-keel, heavy displacement, classic lines ... We love her.

You almost never finish a project boat but once she becomes pleasing to your eye and sailable it was close enough for me to pretty much stop on my frozen snot classic(1966 Columbia 29 mark2) and take on my wooden Hereshoff28 ketch. Once she's sailable, I will will have to choose.

Looking forward to sailing my 1968 Albin designed Corinthian 19 again this summer after some much needed upgrades. New mainsail, kicker, refurbished cuddy and brightwork. And I am even adding rear oarlock and have made a sculling oar. Spring can't come to soon.

Some beauties here! Ours is a 1976 32' Downeast cutter rigged sloop, manufactured in California. She really is a good ol' girl, looks after us well, and we've been on some great adventures together. My first project 15 years ago was to replace those 1970's era burnt orange curtains. Since then, we've made new sail covers, a dodger and bimini, replaced and reupholstered those fabulous 1970's burnt orange cushions, made a winter cover, re-powered, updated all the electronics (she still had a Loran - I think it was possessed), replaced the transmission 3 times (long story), re-sized the prop. This winter's projects include replacing the windows. A prior owner had taken out the large factory windows, filled the holes with marine plywood, and inset smaller windows. The leaks were getting out of control. While we waited for the windows to be manufactured, we decided we might as well pull the ancient naugahyde vinyl headliner. We're re-bedding all the hardware through the house, re-insulating, and planking in red and yellow cedar. Good thing winters are long! On the list: replacing the toe rails, spreaders, re-rigging. And then start all over again - those new windows will need some new curtains. But first, some more adventures...
