Furuno autopilot

Hi,

I'm about to change out the hydraulic steeling helm pump on my Alden 44 so as to reduce wheel turns.
It's connected to a Furuno autopilot (not sure of model) which has a stand-alone processor and magnetic compass.
When it was first installed, I know the system needed calibrating.
My question is; will adding a bigger helm pump affect the Furuno autopilot?
Any experience in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
