Hi All anyone here have a folk boat or done Any upkeep ón one

My father owns one, and I raced one for a number of years, both Sydney Australia GRP "internatonal folk boats". Great little boats.

We have two wooden ones in our club. They're always doing maintenance on them.

Tell us if your folkboat is wood or fiberglass. Our club has two fiberglass ones and there have been issues with the rudders. We've repaired them. The pintles and gudgeons have parts that are hard to find and very expensive so we've converted them to easily obtainable parts.
We've also had problems with main halyards being hung up in the mast and have yet to resolve this one but keep working on it. They work but very hard and it could be a safety issue if you need to tuck in a reef quickly.
Wood boats are always constant maintenance boats.

Yep ... problems with the rudders on the plastic boats in Sydney too. Also, be sure to check the hull-to-deck join, and beefing up the chainplates is recommended.

The plastic ones are relatively maintenance free if kept simple.
