Re: Driving down to move aboard right now

Congrats!!! I too will be leaving the Poconos at end of February and heading to Punta Gorda, FL permently. The Jefferson 42 trawler is sold and will be purchasing a sailing vessel soon( still looking for one) and will begin my carribean tour then heading for Belize and where ever else the wind takes me. I'm so looking forward to this. Again Congrats and I'm sure I'll run into you down there somewhere.

Re: Driving down to move aboard right now

Welcome to the lifestyle, hope to see you there. Just moved aboard with our dog and cat last month and are headed down to the Keys and beyond. Have stopped in Pass Christian for a month. Should have started sooner, we are in our early 70's but are all doing fine.

Re: Driving down to move aboard right now

All I can wish you is great times, even the crappy days are OK cruising, most of the time. Good boat choice as well, keep your hand on your wallet when outfitting. It is often better to sail for 12 months and then making decisions on final outfitting as believe me you will learn a lot in short order.

Robert, how are you making out down there? It's cold here in quakertown which is close to your hometown. Was sitting here and your post crossed my mind. Hope all is great in florida, I'll be moving there very soon!! Enjoy.
