Cruising for the first time

Hello there,

I am new to this forum.

Looking for some tips to be kept in mind while traveling on a small ship cruise.
I am so happy to share that I am traveling on a blount ship cruise the coming holidays. This is my first time on a cruise, so really excited about that. I am going with my wife. However, since this is my first time on a cruise, I am a bit worried about a lot of things.

I want to know about basic things like, how will the dining be like aboard? And what about the food? Will there be multi cuisine? Please help me with this.
I know my questions sound silly, but these small things are the ones that matter the most and I am really worried. I want my first experience on a cruise to be a very memorable one.

I think that you may have been confused by the name of our forum. The subject isn't going on cruise ships at all, but sailing on our own small yachts and motor yachts to destinations of our own choosing, on our own schedules, and with only ourselves as skipper and crew.

I suspect that there are fora that relate to your question, but not this one.

Reminds me of a story told by the captain of a crewed charter on a lagoon 440. We asked if he had anyone who did not like the trip.

He said: "Just one. It was an executive who had his secretary book a cruise for him and his wife. He did not know what to do with the tuxedo he brought with him."

The secretary had told him that he would dine with the captain....

Mr. May is only partially correct, although his record is usually 100% correct. My sailing is on a smallish vessel (I do not care what anyone says, it is not a yacht). My wife refuses to be on anything smaller than a full sized cruise ship (although she will, sometimes, use the tenders they have). I sail solo, or once in a while with a friend or, two or three. But I do go with her on cruises of the big vessel type. So far she has declined captained charters despite having many friends who do enjoy them. It works for us, although I no longer (for many, many years now) go on longer voyages.

Why not contact the company you have booked with and ask them? Seems pretty simple to me, I am sure they would pleased to advise you. I would expect that you will dine very well.

Depends what you catch. Take plenty of lures, crab nets, oyster knife.... and a machete is handy for getting into those coconuts

An important question for sure, but very destination dependent.

For example dropping anchor in this bay should see you right for a full English Breakfast.
