Cruising Bucketlist

Post your bucket list for destinations. Explain why they are on your Bucketlist whether it be the nature, the people the food, the isolation etc. what are your experiences there?

To start I have a few places I would like to go. Here are a few

1. Chagos for snorkeling
2. Alaska for fishing and natural beauty
3. Kingman reef for untouched diving (not sure it's legal unless you at doing research)
4. Maldives for diving
5. Venice for history and food
6. Norway my ancestral home and natural beauty
7. Guyana rainforest
8. Japan for culinary experience and culture
8. Philippines for diving and food
9. Australia for GBR diving
10. New Zealand for natural beauty
11. Croatia for culture, and natural beauty
12. Patagonia for natural beauty and isolation
13. Africa for wildlife ( not sure which country)
14. Madagascar wildlife
15 New Guinea diving

Ok maybe a little naive here but these are what come to mind at many times. Have you been by boat? How was it?

I've been wanting to do the Shetland Islands, or maybe the Hebrides.

Oz, Sorry would not let me add onto Jacob or Bash posts. Aus & Oz are both great places to visit. Enjoyed the GBR in the shark cage and Oz was truly amazing for it's natural beauty. Here are few more from our top 25 as we pick up our new cat end of Sept and enjoy next 3-5 yrs. circumnavigation.

Jacob, FYI

1) Chuuk or Truk Lagoon the Mecca of wreck divers. Been there twice and both were awesome.
2) Wrangel Island in Russia for the extreme cold and amazing wildlife.
3) Galalalagos Isles for the wildlife.
4) Easter Island for the stones
5) Iceland for the volcanic creations (some only accessible by 4 wheel drive) Svalbard is also cold weather stop. Was amazing visit in my official capacity. Sadly I retired today and with new cat coming am chomping at the bit to get out sailing wherever we feel like whenever we want. (as safely as possible)
6) Kiribati (first to see the sun)
7) French Polynesia for the huge manta rays. Makes you realize how small a human really is and that any scuba diver that says they don't pee in their wetsuit when suddenly scared is a liar.
8) Mount Pelee' Martinique Carib. Seems so eerily out of place but real.
9) The Med for it's history, culture, food, and usually great people
We have 158 stops on our bucket list that we plan to hit over the 5 years but these are some of our top 25 favorites that were not on your list.
10) Cardiff (UK) so my lady can visit her mom. A smart sailor makes sure not to forget this one.

Re: Cruising Bucketlist

I'm currently sitting in the Mockingbird Cafe on San Cristobal Island in The Galapagos Islands and we are leaving tomorrow afternoon for the Marquesas en transit to Vanuatu on a FP Eleuthera 60 - the many destinations ahead of us along with a beautiful fast boat which is running a brand new Parasailor spinnaker certainly ticks a lot off my bucket list.
