Is there an update on ban of bottom paints with copper?

California and Washington had banned copper a few years ago.

Curious, if the ban is still in effect...and if so how long before the copper ban reaches the Great Lakes.

Google it....both states banned copper in bottom paint going back to 2011..where did you get your info?

Where did you get yours? I earn my living maintaining boats in California painted with copper-based anti fouling paint, testified before the state Senate about the ban legislation and even co-authored an amendment to the legislation. I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about when I tell you no law was ever passed in California banning copper-based anti fouling paints.

Thanks....that is terrific information...so, I will continue to use VC17 on Lake Michigan...could not be happier. When I just Googled "ban on copper bottom paint "I got the info as noted....pleased it is not in effect.
