Chartplotter Cards

Hey All,

Any reason why I should NOT leave the navigation chart card in the chartplotter when done using it. Can it theoretically be left there permanently?

Can not think of a reason other than theft if your unit is left in the cockpit or is otherwise accessible. Regarding weather, they are usually waterproof sealed in the plotter. IN TERMS OF TEMPERATURE, Canadian winter has not affected the Navionics card in the Elite5 we have in place in the nav station. It has been there for the last four years.
