Best blogs/videos for my woman to see please?

Hi all,

I'm keen to buy a yacht and head off in a year or so with my girlfriend.
My girlfriend has never really travelled or been on a boat, she's very outgoing tries anything and doesn't mind getting her hands dirty so there is hope. What's the best blogs or videos I can show her that might give her an insight of life aboard. I plan to take her sailing this year but until then want to hopefully wet her appetite for it.

We have watched dozens of video blog series. My wife enjoyed "SV Honeymoon" the most. Just search for it on YouTube and watch it from the first episodes. Very likable couple.

I suggest Lahowind, Where The Coconuts Grow, Interlude and Suburbs To Sailing for some folks in the Carib/Bahamas now. Try Bumfuzzle for an around the world they did a number of years ago. You can also try Bella Star, Estrelita and Nyon for some younger couples in the Pacific. One more....check out La Vagabonde on YouTube getting ready to cross from Cape Verdes to Carib soon.

Good luck & have fun!

I'll add Windtraveler.net, MJ Sailing, Sundowner Sails Again. Also, the Women Who Sail facebook group.

Going through the same with my fiancé...she's now blog obsessed.

I would suggest NOT looking at the recent spat of Coast Guard videos being posted…

All the ones showing them rescuing people off the 4-5 boats that have recently been abandoned offshore.

I have been led to believe that if you can swing her an invitation to join the Women Who Sail Facebook group, all her fears, questions, concerns etc. will be answered. I know you were asking about videos and blogs, and I'd suggest asking that same question of that group. Most of them started out mentally where your lady friend is presently located.

Or you could just get stoned and watch Capt. Ron.
