Re: Are you a small boat cruiser?
What I have learned about social groups, please share and maybe some of them will become active:
1. To get to them, go to Community -> Social Groups
You'll find something labeled All Groups and ways to browse around them.
2. To join, select a group and join it.
--Here's where it gets fuzzy for me because it's new knowledge, but I'm told it works--
I'm not sure what joining does other than make you visible to other group members, but the key that I'm hoping for is:
3. While viewing a group select Group Tools -> Subscribe
At this point, if I understand correctly, you should now be notified when there's activity, which will encourage you to go back and participate. At least, that's how I hope they work.

Re: Are you a small boat cruiser?
I joined. Hopefully this one is more active than the 'Ale lovers' group.
Last year we acquired our 35 yr old 28 footer. Last year was not great with low water levels on Lake Champlain and change of residence, jobs, car accident, etc.
This year sailing is the priority. Get out on the water. Don't worry about stuff until it breaks. We are not blue water ready anyway.
Next year...ICW?

Re: Are you a small boat cruiser?
Joined. Sorry, I don't post here much ... yet. I'm refitting an Albin Vega 27 for an extended (two year-ish?) Caribbean cruise, starting in the Fall of 2020.
For now it's a few days here, few days there, aboard our Catalina 22. Our record is six days and nights without touching a dock, or re-provisioning of any kind. We could go a lot longer if it weren't for our stupid JOBS.

Re: Are you a small boat cruiser?
So I posted this also in another thread, but if you have a smaller boat, and you haven't seen this yet, you may want to check it out. I have an 8' beam and I put this table set-up in this year for my summer cruising and it was GREAT. Thanks to Columbia406 for turning me on to this one:
here are a few shots of my own installation. I used a 27"x23" sheet of plywood with the pivot off-center to give more position options. Personally I didn't see a need for a fold up table with the ease of getting it out of the way:

Re: Are you a small boat cruiser?
Only 26' here but I do not think we qualify as cruisers.
Our boat knows only two uses: or she is sailing far and wild (wild, doh, within her limits, for sure) or else she is our home sweet home floating condo in Canary Islands.
The only time we ever come close to being as if cruisers ;-) is when in the West Indies or on our rtw jaunt. But then there we were: without a rib, without fridge problems (no fridge here), no noisy kids and no pissing pets onboard. Hardly cruising then!
Cheers,
b.

Re: Are you a small boat cruiser?
I am starting to cruise on a 30’er. One thing I have been pondering is if I am low on water, but don’t otherwise need to stop in a marina is there somewhere to fill my tanks?

nope not that I'm aware of . What you need is a watermaker. Then you would not have to think about it. You can just make more when you get low.
Btw welcome aboard cruisers forum.

Re: Are you a small boat cruiser?
when i grow up, i wanna be a .... small boat cruiser!
yesterday...instead of translating, ahem, ...i succumbed to researching boats, ahem and..., i stumbled onto to this blog.
check out this Danish family on their little 28' boat! they descended the european canals, popped across the med, down to the canaries and crossed the Atlantic. still at it, they just left Recife and are heading north. the kids are about 9 and 5 years old.
