You qualify! Though I am not the group's boss. Westsail 28 is not fat, it's big beamed.

I'll drag out my laptop later and try again. Might just be the mobile app that's not compatible with the groups. Mind you, if I can't get to the groups on my phone, it's not like I'd be contributing much anyway.

I joined. We are in Long Beach Ca., SYC and WECC members. We take our Morgan 27 to the island all the time (Catalina) and have sailed up to Marina Del Rey and down to San Diego.

Re: Are you a small boat cruiser?

I'm in! Our first boat was a Bristol 24, but we bought a Bristol 29.9 in August of 2015 that we're planning to take cruising in 3 years, 5 months, and 23 days - but who's counting?

For now we take her out every weekend in addition to longer vacation trips as the schedule permits.

Re: Are you a small boat cruiser?

So, is this a sub-group of CC? if I post on here, can i still have access to the regular CC?
If I have to return to the main CC, how do I find this forum again for small boats when I sign on?
BTW, what constitutes a "small" boat? . . . When I owned my first boat, a 20ft open day-sailer, i thought anything 24ft and up were all BIG boats.

My boat is 24ft LOD but a bowsprit plus a boom-kin gives her a 30ft sail plan, giving her a 'bigger' boat appearance. She is a PASSAGE 24, full keeled coastal cruiser built on an original plan by Tom Gillmer NA of BLUE MOON fame.
This boat has similar lines and specs of the Pardey's Serraffyn except it has a long house giving 6ft 2in standing headroom throughout.

More headroom than I have. When you are logged in click on your user name, there is a menu on the side bar where you can fine your group memberships.

Re: Are you a small boat cruiser?

Hunter 27 Cherubini vintage. I suppose that just makes the mark. I will see if I can get assigned to the group. Looking to finish refit in next few weeks or a month maybe, then gotta pay the yard off, and THEN gotta do some river sailing for a bit. After winter is done, thinking of making a longer trip or two. Nothing oceanic really, just coastal stuff, ICW, minor offshore, and the like.

Should be tons of area along St. John's River, the Florida coastline, Keys, and GOM to keep us busy! We can also go up to the Carolinas, and so on.

I get a message when someone has posted to a social group I belong. Don't you?

Interesting, I don't. Are you using the older version? That may be why groups have gone quiet, perhaps the newer version doesn't include showing posts to groups.

Hey, thanks for this Don C L . . . In the opening comments of this link I found the answer to my question as to what determines "small" boat. It states anything under 30ft meets the bill. Does that mean anything over 30ft is to be excluded from posting here? . . . Just curious
Conversely, are small boat owners excluded from the "big" boat forum? I'd hate to think I've been posting where I should not?????

Well, I didn't start the group, but I'd say all are welcome. "Small boat" is ambiguous... I know some folks who think 40 feet is "small."
