Any woody cruisers out there?

Hi all,
I am a self professed wooden boat lover and am thinking of buying a wooden motorsailor to use for cruising in a few years. I am just wondering if there is anyone here who is currently cruising on or is preparing to go cruising on a wooden boat? I would love to ask you about your experiences.
Thank you,
Greg F

I know nothing about wooden boats. But check out the Swedish boat on this thread.

Re: Any woody cruisers out there?

We've cruised on our 32' cutter, Mimi Rose up and down the coast and loved it. Have met a number of other cruisers on wooden boats, too. Wooden boats have many advantages if you understand their care. Their prices are also rock bottom right now. Go for it! Fire away with questions here or PM me for contact info.

Re: Any woody cruisers out there?

If you include modern composite construction in your definition of "wood boat", then yes, Ann and I have been cruising in our strip plank/epoxy boat for the past 14 yers and 55,000 miles.

Glad to answer specific questions, not so glad to answer generic "what is good about it"type questions, 'cause they don't really have answers!
