Are there any fellow hams that sail on here? If you are which nets do you participate in or know of? Don't have an HF set up yet but I am looking for VHF/UHF groups.

'73 everyone.

Re: Amateur Radio

Gary, there are a number of hams who participate here on CF. I'm sure that you will find them as you read through the posts, especially in threads about electronics and communications.

FWIW, I'm N9GFT and VK4GFT maritime mobile and participate in a daily ham net called the "Comedy Net". Meets at 2040 Z on 7.087 LSB and covers the SW Pacific area (though with the current lack of sunspots we have no non-Australian stations checking in. Right now there are more land based than m/m folks involved, but they all share an interest in sailing and cruising.

I'm not aware of any VHF ham m/m nets, but there certainly could be some... maybe on the East Coast of the USA where the boat population density is so high.

73 de Jim

PS I think I remember that the "Noonsite" has a list of ham m/m nets world wide... have a look there.
