Alternator not charging

I have 2 Yanmar's and noticed yesterday the house bank is not being charged when either or both are running. When I start engines the alternators charge for approx 30 seconds and then stop charging. Any ideas why. Thanks Geoff.

Re: Alternator not charging

Are you plugged into shorepower? Are the batteries full?

What type of boat ? A leopard cat ? If so mine has cole heresy solenoids that when you start it first charges the starter batteries then when they are full moves to house batteries

Not plugged into shorepower.
Have separate alternators for start batteries.

Re: Alternator not charging

Next Step Regulator -state indicator and error indicator both light up after about 30 seconds of starting engine and then no charge going into battery bank .Previously about a year ago it wasn't charging and replaced finder 12 v fuse.Fuse still looks good ???

Re: Alternator not charging

Plugged into 240 volt and battery charger works and charges battery bank.Still can't find why regulater cuts out after 30 seconds upon starting engines.
