I still have Elvstom's On Racing Rules somewhere at home. 1975 edition lol. The one with the little plastic boats with brass booms to visualise the situation.

Haha. Been a while. Used to play with the little plastic boats when I was a kid! Seeing brings back some memories.

Not much remembered now, but Paul was one of the giants of his time... and by reputation, a very nice person.

RIP, with fair winds and following seas on your final voyage...

Jim

Elvstrom was at one time involved in an American Cup Campaign--Swedish perhaps? IIRC he had that 12 meter boat rigged with a very long tiller as he felt that gave him much more feel.

Anyway, quite the sailor.
