3Jh5E Yanmar diesels

I have 2x Yanmar Diesel engines in my cat that have done 1500 hrs and never inspected the exhaust risers. Am I slack as I was told they don't give any trouble.Famouse last words. Asking for advice please.

Never seen an exhaust riser that doesn't need cleaning / repair / replacement sooner or later; I suggest 1500 hours would be a very good time to remove them and have a good look at them (even if only one). At the very least, it will give you peace of mind.

I would read the manual carefully, as I had a 4jh4-hte and they had as a maintenance point to change the elbow every 2 years or 500 hours.
