1981 43' Formosa Spindrift

Good afternoon all!
I have been on this forum for a few years now and have seen many intelligent people be very helpful. I hope this is the case here. I just bought a 1981 43' Formosa Spindrift Pilothouse sailboat to begin a keel up restoration project. It's not normal for me to purchase outside of Hunter or Catalina for project boats but this one was too good to turn down. Million dollar question... Do these boats have any tanks other than fuel and fresh water? Like black or gray? Thanx in advance!!

According to this the only tankage is 60 gallons fuel and 120 gallons water.

You're right - this should be interesting. I saw there were only 20 made and they're not even sure who designed it. Hopefully someone will be able to guide you. I can relate - our boat is 1 of 2 built. We're still discovering some of the oddities!

Re: 1981 43' Formosa Spindrift

It was actually built in Taiwan of a Roy Amy design by a well known company that went out of business in 1988. I did find an outlet on the deck that was painted over that read "waste" so there is hope lol. If not, I was going to draw it up in my plans to put one in lol
