Re: To build and refit or not ?

Gregg I have two boats already I can go sailing anytime the weather permits here in Minnesota. Gregg I have always my entire life been that guy you know the one who everyone says no to but they go and do it anyways. Everytime I finish one of my projects and some disbeliever says wow you did do it, I get a smile on my face. I dont hate myself I love to challenge myself. I also feel like buying a used sailboat is like buying a used airplane with out the log books, most sailboats in the 25yr to 35yr old range I have seen dont have much in the way of logs. Its my special brand of thinking. Charley

Hi Trapoc,

Yeah, I think the twin keel design is attractive. It opens up a lot of anchorages that tidal change renders unusable to conventional keel boats. Makes bottom cleaning a snap too.

I think Brent has been living on his 31' for about 24 years now. He likes it.

Oh I agree. I have taken junk boats (litterly, it was being tossed in the trash) and refit them into something worth having. But the value of the boat didn't justify doing it. I did it because I wanted to learn how to refit a boat from the ground up, and I like lost causes like this.
