Hello.
Been hashing around trying to figure out what is spent in a town on a free anchorage visit. So if you anchor in a coastal US town, dinghy ashore, what Are ballpark numbers for
1. Dining out
2. Provisions
3. Fuel
4. Hardware
5. Alcohol
6. Other

And are you a
1. Weekender (fun money, constant income)
2. Snowbird (point a to point b, underway)
3. Liveaboard (tight budget, long duration)

For me,
I am a weekender, I spend about $70 on a meal with alcohol for 2. Might spend $30-$40 in provisions. Might spend $50 on projects on those weekends. These are guess averages, especially the project costs which are wildly variable, but I'm thinking small like oil changes and canvas patching etc.

Fuel I fill up and cruise to spots, no great distance on an economical single diesel. $500-$1500 a season. last season very light use due to other time demands.

Much of this changes if I am a snowbird or liveaboard, obviously. Different budget strategy.

We don't fit into your categories. We are long term cruisers. We aren't liveaboards who stay in one place for months on end. While we are on a budget, it's not the $500/month other talk about. We don't rush from point A to B.

We typically anchor out when we are in rural non-built up areas and only for a night or two at a time, so our spending is negligible when anchored.

When in built up areas, we prefer a marina for convenience. Possibly comparable would be when we find a free dock.

1 We will typically eat out locally if we have a free dock. Usually $25-30. We often do lunch as our schedule is flexible. When paying for dockage we usually eat out 2-3 times per week, again at mid level places.
2, 4 & 5 Groceries and misc is probably around $100/wk but again usually when we are at a dock. Then there is the occasional higher cost items (bottom paint, repairs, etc...)
3 We budget $200/month. That gets us around 300/miles motoring per month. We like to keep travel days at around 20-25miles but it depends on where the next stop is.
6 Rental car a couple times a month for touring. We do spend on marinas regularly.

Overall budget is around $2000-2500/month.
