Refit services in Fajardo

Has anyone used any refit or service facilities in Fajardo, Puerto Rico and can share their experience, good or bad. Anyone used Island Marine Inc., which works out of Puerto Del Rey marina?

We did a major refit (all thru-hulls, bottom paint, standing rigging, canvas work, etc.) in Puerto Rico at the end of 2012. We used Island Marine for the things we couldn't do ourselves. We are also having IM haul us in June for a survey, custom cabinet work, bottom paint and misc. other things. We really like Ken and Rick at IM, we found that they were (Ken especially) very good at thinking out of the box, they do very good work and they were very cost conscious.

Puerto del Rey is a nice marina with a lot of marine services located on the property, but expensive. We spent four months in Sunbay Marina in Fajardo while out fitting our boat and that worked out well for us. Sunbay Marina is much smaller, but clean, friendly and secure.

We also worked with the Rigging Shop (Quino Sanchez) and Atlantic Canvas (Carol). They both did excellent work for us but are a little time challenged, so if you need those kinds of services I would suggest you have Island Marine coordinate the work for you and Ken will keep everyone on task.
