Hey, I am an unrepentent capitalist, and your website does provide a great service. More power (and money) to you! Keep up the good work.

David_Old_J, I read your post to suggest that I am taking issue with the site making money for its owner. I want to correct that tone, as that's not the case at all! I too am a pure capitalist, and have made a fairly decent career out of my interest in business, working as a business analysis and strategic advisory consultant for 25+ years. So my questions are reflective of my interest in how this all works, and are most certainly not critical.
I am nothing but impressed, and appreciative, and yes - even envious.

Yes they do but they very rarely do it unilaterally. Posts may be quarantined and discussed in the backroom before final decisions are made. Those posting will be notified of their decision.

They're not. They're volunteers in a normally thankless and misunderstood position on the forums.
As the owner and moderator for another boating site (the name shall remain unmentioned), I can attest that we do this for the fun of it, and to help others have a good time in the process. We also like the idea of the sharing of ideas, and the solving of problems through this process.
