New boat sail-away price (US)

I'm trying to do some financial planning for a future boat purchase that is still a few years out. Basically I'd like to know how much money I'll need, and to start considering the trade-offs of new vs used. The type of boat I'm looking for is something like the Hanse 505, which appears to have a base price around $280k. It looks like if one were to order it in July/Aug, there is a promotion where a ton of options are thrown in for "free".

1. Is it actually possible to buy a 505 with the promotion packages for a sail-away price near $300k?

2. Can someone break down typical delivery/assembly/tax/docs types of fees for me on a boat purchase like this?

3. The used 505's I see listed on YachtWorld and elsewhere are in the $400k price range, which doesn't make sense to me if they could be purchased new for less. Any help explaining this one as well would be appreciated.

All depends on where you're located, where you want the boat, what options you'd like and the dealer. Don't think you'll get it all for 300K. And it will all change in a few years when you're ready to buy. When you're talking hundreds of thousands just currency fluctuation can make a big difference.

Watch for state's with sales tax. That can be 8% or more.
-Be inquisitive on delivery, preparation charges etc.
-Insist all the "added stuff" is done to ABYC standards, note on the contract the boat must pass survey on delivery. This can help get things done correctly.

I imagine that the slightly used boats have a lot of equipment. As a seller you often think you can get paid for that , but most often you cant. It may take a seller a year without a sale before he figures this out.
