Hi, I'm considering making an offer on a boat in Wilmington NC and would like to talk to a reputable surveyor (for sailboats) in that area.
I also may want a rigger.
Does anyone have any names to recommend or avoid?
It's for a 1980's 33 ft fiberglasssloop.
Thanks for the recommendation. He is too busy to take on new surveys at the moment.
There are a few guys on SAMS in Wilmington. Does anyone have feedback on them?
Brian C. Donnalley
Wayne V. Canning
Robert J. Eldridge
and then a few more Surveyor Associates.
You might want to give Jim Bussmann at Bussmann Marine Surveying a call. I have never used him but he talked a friend of mine out of buying a problem boat. He's also the dockmaster at Waterfronte. His number is (910)458-7400.
Hey! That's who I ended up with! Question answered.
Jim was recommended by another surveyor last week and that is who I've been talking to. Nice to get more recommendations for him.
My offer was accepted and we are scheduling the survey now.
Thanks for the help!
I'm on my way to the cruising lifestyle!!
Hope all goes well with the survey! If you will keep the boat in the Wilmington area and want some tips on the area, let me know. I've been sailing around there for a while now.LewKoinonia CP27
