I've had two boats surveyed by Gene Barnes out of Gloucester, MA. He was excellent. Price depends on how long the survey takes. He spent seven hours on my twenty year old 40 footer. I know he does surveys throughout the Northeast. PM if you want more information.

Used Ken to survey a few boats for us. They charge by the foot.

I've used Buddy Hitchcock, Hitchcock Marine Surveys, Essex Ct. 860-767-7251. He is very accomodating, and will take time to answer questions, or explain situations on the boat.

Which part of CT? In SW end (Stamford/Norwalk), figure about $500 for a 40-footer.

Thanks for the info, the area will depend on which boat I decide to go with. That is why I wanted several from the different locations.
