Lake Norman Marine Supplies

Hey,

Anyone know of any marine supply stores like West Marine in the Lake Norman area? Want to try to limit my purchases at West Marine seeing as how they got rid of their price matching policy. Google searches on this topic don't seem to be so fruitful. Thanks

Order online from Defender Industries.

Carl and all of the associates at the Cornelius West Marine do a nice job and I will continue to support a local brick and mortar whenever possible. Purchasing on-line vs. local is always a balancing act but it is nice to have a choice.

For all those that love to bash West Marine, it's about 2 hours to the nearest marine store of any variety. I would love to have a West Marine nearby that I could support. No they aren't perfect and some of their prices aren't the lowest on the entire planet (but some are) and it sure is convenient to have one available. I have to say that my experience with the employees at West Marines all up and down the east coast has been invariably pleasant.

Re: Lake Norman Marine Supplies

Thanks for the replies guys. My question is more so for any boaters in the Lake Norman area that know of any brick and mortar stores other than West Marine. I shop defender pretty frequently and love it. I just want to know if there are any places I can get a product in a pinch without paying an arm and a leg or waiting around for it to be coupon time just so I can justify the purchase? Thanks

Jonathan,
Not much in Columbia except WM. I don't know any in the CLT area. Have you checked the local boat dealers, like Sea Ray etc? Sometimes they have chandleries with decent selection. Don't forget about Camping World. I have found some boating type items at good prices there, especially electrical/plumbing/galley stuff.
