For private sales in the U.S., Boattrader.com and Iboats.com are two I often check.

I actually like Sailboat Listings .com because you can view the information in several different ways, by size, by state, by manufacture.

Yachts for sale, used yachts, new sailing yacht sales, free photo ads - Apollo Duck Great for euro searches. I have found YW better for US searches though.

Yes, but their listings are often stale and their database is small. You can accomplish the same thing on Yachtworld using keyword searches.

The problem with Yachtworld is that 99.99% of the boats are broker listed. The brokers have access to ad creation functionality on the Yachtworld site that boat owners do not have. If a seller wants to avoid the broker's commission, he probably has to advertise elsewhere. I'm not sure how best to tap this "hidden market," but you do see ads in Good Old Boat, Spinsheet and similar publications. You can also find boats listed for sale on various yacht club websites.
