International Health Insurance

Without applying to a bunch I was trying to get a feel for costs and coverage thats out there.

Any ideas on costs for 35-40 male and female?

Kids?

Thanks,

Mitch

I just obtained an on-line instant quotation for: US $ 3,942.28/anum
This seems to be approximately in line with what I’ve heard others are paying ($300/mo+).
Depending upon a very few choices, your milage may vary.

I've used this company before. Maybe you can ask them for a quote.

We have gone with International health & travel medical insurance. Prices / coverage seem very competitive. We've kept our prices down by going for quite high deductables ($1,000). Our thinking is that minor health care can be paid for locally at non-US rates. Major issues, which we hope to be rare, will be covered by the insurance.

We have signed up with Medjet. We figure simple things we will take care out of pocket locally and big things they will fly us back to the medical facility of our choice in the US where our Medicare and Supplement are good.

I used Nomad once. World Nomads - Keep Travelling Safely
Didn't have any claims so don't know their record on that but it is backed by a really big insurance outfit.

good experiences with 7corners agent

We also used seven corners and our broker was out of san diego. We had great customer service. I think you can buy from them direct, but it isn't any more expensive and we liked having someone we could talk to that didn't work for a company. Our agent has a website, www.healthisinternational.com
The guy is also a sailor so he knows what sailors need.
