insurance without hull-survey??? need HELP

Hi,
I have a big problem - hopefully somebody can help me!

I have a home-made sailboat (45f), built in 1989. I never had insurance for my boat and a survey was never done.

Now I want to haul my boat and I need liability insurance. No marina will haul me out without any liability insurance. (Years ago I could haul my boat without any insurance)

All insurance companies I called so far won't give me insurance without a survey (including the hull). The problem is that the boat must be haul to get the survey the insurance-companies are asking for.
Without insurance I can't get haul-out and I can't get haul-out because I need insurance for this.

Does anybody know an insurance company that will give me liability insurance without a survey including the hull?

A long shot, but have you been ultra specific about what insurance you need?

Can you speak with an insurance broker who can provide you with a "one time" or "haul out" liability package, covering damage to the marina's equipment, rather than damage to your own boat?

What about offering a letter to the marina stating you will not hold them responsible for any damage caused by them to your vessel. Just a thought

I will try offering a letter - but I guess it won't work.

I forgot to say:
Some Marinas would haul my boat only for a survey. These marinas (in Fort Lauderdale) are too expensive for me to stay there for working on the boat. (I guess I have to work on the boat for at least 1 month.) I found a cheaper marina in Fort Pierce where I also could work on the boat by myself. This marina won't haul the boat without insurance.

The problem with this solution: I would have to pay twice: 1. hauling for getting the survey done, 2. the marina where I would stay for one month.

Would be much better if I could get a liability insurance without a survey including the hull.

maybe somebody knows an insurance company for this!

A lot of yards won't ask for insurance if you are doing a quick haul. They haul the boat, they wash it, the surveyor thumps it a few places and they put it back. A quick haul is cheaper.

It sounds like you want to haul and block it then survey and not put it back in. I'm not surprised you can't find a yard that will do that. They really don't want an uninsured boat sitting around the yard.

thanks a lot for your answer.
I'm going to ask surveyers in my hometown if they know marinas which are doing this kind of haul.

After asking some more insurance companies it looks like getting an insurance for a home-made boat (1989) is hard enough - even with a survey.
