insurance for Homebuilt Sailboat in Canada ?

hi, we're looking for suggestions regarding purchasing liability insurance for a new sailboat we're just completing. The vessel will be located in Ontario for about a year and then will be sailing abroad. thanks.

Whatever company you choose, make sure to ask if they require a survey before you launch. Bummer to have to slip the boat just after launching it.

Don't ask me how I know.....

I was lucky enough to live close to the designer, and he vouched that he had personally overseen the build process, so my insurer was willing to accept an in water survey.
