You have a valuable if seriously underpaid skill, and with time and patience could substitute up and down the East Coast
quite well. You might even entertain the idea of a larger boat, say 30' to raise your standard of living.
However, a very well kept boat with recent big dollar upgrades will be difficult to find, and require a lot of travel.
Just a suggestion: move to a boating
area you wish to start from, work part time and shop hard and carefully. You've lived this long surrounded by kids
, so you're probably good for many more years of relative peace and quiet!
A word of caution: as certain authorities take a particularly dim view of commerce without contributing to the general welfare, you might find entirely too much time on your hands.
Unless of course you find a way to tow a submersible cargo....
