You have a valuable if seriously underpaid skill, and with time and patience could substitute up and down the East Coast quite well. You might even entertain the idea of a larger boat, say 30' to raise your standard of living.

However, a very well kept boat with recent big dollar upgrades will be difficult to find, and require a lot of travel.

Just a suggestion: move to a boating area you wish to start from, work part time and shop hard and carefully. You've lived this long surrounded by kids, so you're probably good for many more years of relative peace and quiet!

A word of caution: as certain authorities take a particularly dim view of commerce without contributing to the general welfare, you might find entirely too much time on your hands.

Unless of course you find a way to tow a submersible cargo....
