Florida and SE catamaran market. Up or Down?

Ive been told by brokers two different things, either its a buyer market or a sellers.
Im confused on wether to make strong or weak bids on cats for sale around florida and caribbean.
Im in Australia so dont have a good feel for what the demand is.

Cheers

Re: Florida and SE catamaran market. Up or Down?

Hi, im in Thailand and have just sold my boat, in the market for another. My impression is its a buyers market everywhere. I will be respectfully offering low ball offers, theres alot of boats for sale.

Re: Florida and SE catamaran market. Up or Down?

Seems like it's always a buyer's market. Most boats are on the market for a long time. Most are overpriced. Of course, I keep seeing people "falling in love" with a boat...and paying too much. Talked to a new buyer yesterday with terrible buyer's remorse.
As a cat broker, I suggest start looking, and if you don't get the first boat you like, remember, there is always another.

Just be careful if buying a vessel outside of Australia and trying to bring it back into the country at a later stage. The costs are enormous. Do your homework as there are many hidden costs. You may find buying in Australia is a lot easier in the long run particularly when u convert back to AUD. Good luck!

Ive been looking at Australian boats out of curiosity (wont be buying there). For the first time I think cats are now similarly priced as elsewhere if you take our currency into consideration. Larger modern production boats still seem alot more expensive than Europe. From what hear yachts aren't selling well there either.
