Commandeur insurance

Any fresh, new reports or review about Commandeur insurance?
It seems there is not much on line up today.
Thanks

Re: Commandeur insurance

I am in the process of making a claim for dismasting in Newfoundland to Commandeur. After 26 days of waiting for a plan for repair, during which time I motored over 300 miles to position the boat for repair or trucking home (Chester Basin N,S) I finally convinced their surveyor to authorize trucking back to Maine. I still have no idea about how the repairs are going to be paid for. It has been suggested that I will have to front the money, which I don't have, and is why I have been paying the premiums for the last 5 years.
So far, I am not impressed with how my claim has been handled, but will with hold judgment of Commandeur until this claim runs its course. In the mean time if anyone has experience with this company I would like to hear about their experience.
