Buy Then Sell in Europe?

My dream is to take 3 months to explore the canals from Holland to France. Hiring a boat for this length of time is out of my budget so I was thinking of buying a small boat in the Netherlands for under 10,000 euros and then selling it in France somewhere after 3 months of cruising. I'm really only after something with a reliable engine that can sleep 2.

As an Australian I was wondering if this idea is crazy and if I am likely to drown in a sea of paperwork and red tape when I buy and sell the boat?
