Every boat in central Canada spends 7-8 months on the hard every year as the "cottage" season is very short. Unlike in California and much of the Pacific Northwest, winter is a time of snowmobiling, not sailing, or even letting the boat sit as a dock queen.

"Hey dear lets skate over to the boat and have some mulled wine!"

Don't get me wrong here, most Canadians look longingly at pictures of boats in the water at Christmas and are more than a little envious.

As long as it has been anti-fouled and the paint system maintained it should be fine except for the engine--which might need a check-up. If the anodes have been regularly replaced the prop and rudder bearings should be OK too, the bearings will need grease.
