Boat Trailering Service

I plan on buying a 22' sailboat very soon. I need someway of getting it from its current location in New York down to New Jersey.

Do services exist that will trailer my boat for me? If so, where do I go to find more information? How much do they usually cost (2 hour trip)?

Hi:

I don't have any specific info for you as I am not in your area.

I had a 32 foot sailboat transported about 2 hours. It cost about $1200 or $1400, somewhere in there. It was a F450 truck or equivalent pulling a special purpose boat moving trailer. It picked up the boat by picking up the cradle underneath it.

If you don't have a specific 22 foot boat in mind, it would probably be cheaper to find a boat on its own trailer, and get a buddy with a truck to haul it for you.

There are probably less expensive hired out options for a 22 foot boat also, but whatever they would be is outside my experience.
