Twilight in the Desert

This interesting book review was originally posted at “Marine Engines > Fuel Prices”, and included an intelligent, but politically ‘charged’, discussion of political motivations, which I considered beyond this forum’s proper dominion - hence I edited the review to it’s essential fundamentals, and relocated it here.
Anyone wishing a copy of Anothersailorman's full review, including political analysis can PM me.

From AnotherSailorman’s post (edited):

“Twilight in the Desert: the coming Saudi oil shock and the world economy”
by Matthew R Simmons, 422pp, ISBN 047173876X (John Wiley & Sons)

"In 'Twilight in the Desert ...”, author Matthew R. Simmons puts forward the case that Saudi Arabia's production of oil will soon reach an apex, after which the world will face an oil shortage. The book offers an in-depth look at the world oil market and the alleged mismanagement of Saudi oil resources, showing how the Saudi system could stall under the pressure of higher world oil demand ..."

Thanks for editing, Gord

I saw the post earlier and thought this site might unfortunately go the way of some others where political diatribes and personal attacks abound instead of sailing related posts.

Thanks for not deleting the post entirely.
I'll "try" to stay off politics, but it's hard
I DO recommend the book.
