Re: Some free kindle books
Hi Lohi
Many thanks for posting these. The "special price" was an offer too good to resist .
I have downloaded all of them now to add to my growing collection to read "one day" when we have no internet access and I am desperate for new books. With a few hundred books now loaded on my Kindle I am just about ready to give up the security blanket of my most of my hard copies and clear some much needed storage space (note the "just about" comment LOL).
I will start reading Caribee when I have put on the kettle for a fresh cuppa.
Please add more free sailing Kindle books from Amazon when you find them. I find these easiest to load.

Add to that Blighs story if the mutiny and his subsequent epic small boat crossing. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006FL...AC_SX110_SY165
Also look for "South" by Sir Ernest Shackleton.
Both are FREE---- gotta love that word

Re: Some free kindle books
A source for a huge library of books that are out of copywright and free is the Guenberg Project. Free ebooks - Project Gutenberg
Nice thing, you don't have to use a Kindle to download them.

Re: Some free kindle books
The Project Gutenberg site is wonderful, I've spent hours browsing there. And for things not in kindle format, if you have a kindle don't forget that you can easily add them to your kindle library by emailing the file to your kindle email address. I've downloaded a slew of Robert E. Howard stories from Gutenberg, among other things.

Re: Some free kindle books
I see there are a lot of freebies posted so instead of posting book by book i'll just give you my way of finding bargains (maybe i should have done that immediately)
Just go to kindle books, select a category and filter the books by price "low to high" and voila freebies
ex.
Amazon.com: Sports - Kindle Books: Kindle eBooks Outdoors & Nature, Miscellaneous, Individual Sports & More

You don't need a kindle to use the Amazon offerings either. They can also be read through client applications targeting Android, IOS, Blackberry, Windows Phone, Windows, Mac OSX and browsers.
Still, I agree that Project Gutenberg is a great project that more people should know about.

Re: Some free kindle books
It doesn't hurt to contribute to the Gutenburg project either, for what you get. they give a great deal.
