Some Free Kindle Books

Project Gutenburg is a great source for free books, but I always use Amazon's site if the book is also free. The whispersync feature will automatically save your page if you decide to switch reading devices. If I am at work and need to kill some time or if I just have my phone and want have a few free minutes it will automatically go to the last page read.

I agree . I have downloaded a couple of hundred classics from Guttenberg, but given I have a Kindle and I'm working on an iPad, it is just so much easier to do this directly from Amazon.

Yes, project Gutenberg is a great source of reading material, indeed. I too grabbed quire few good free Amazon books, also bought a bunch. In many cases Kindle books on Amazon cost is affordable enough. Have to admit, I got a lot of books in TXT and PDF formats from my friend in Russia. Many of the books in Russian, some in English. Then I convert them to MOBI format and load on my Kindle keyboard. I love this device!!! Feels like reading real paper, battery lasts for over a month, if WiFi is turned off. I do have iPad, but when it comes to reading books, Kindle is the way to go for me!

If yall have a Library Card, you can ck out pretty much all the books ya can read for free!! anytime day or night if ya have internet! We use our kindles to read books from our local library all the time for free!! Every library we have been to has internet ck out!! Both here in Louisiana, and almost every port we have been to has a library!! and has internet! Heck of a nice way to get books for your kindle!! No cost except for the Lib card if they charge!! Just a suggestion from a couple of constant readers!!

I just started A Sea Queen's Sailing. I had never heard of it or the author. So far it's a really good book.

I like to listen to audiobooks and www.podiobooks.com is a good resource for free audiobooks. There aren't any big name authors there. The books are in serial form, which means a chapter or more is available as a songle download. The author usually reads and records the files. They may upload new files every week or so, but there areany, many books that ate complete where you can download all of the episodes. It's heavy on sci fi and horror, but many are very good. I'm a fan of Scot Sigler and Mile Bennet- both horror authors. The files are in high quality mp3 format.
