New (old) Authors

I just found a new author, new to me at least. His name is William McFee. He knew Joseph Conrad though was about 20 years younger. Just as Conrad was a transitional author from sail to steam , so McFee was a transitional author from low pressure to steam turbines . When he was off watch McFee would go to his cabin and write novels. These include the following.
A Six-Hour Shift
An Ocean Tramp
Comand
Derilects
Harbours of Memory
North of Suez and many others

I bought four books on ebay for about $1.50 each. Very well written and give a perspective from the engine room.
