Favorite Cruising Blogs

I have read quite a few cruising blogs that I enjoyed (others not, for various reasons). Some were more focused on the technical aspects of cruising/sailing such as navigating, routes, maintenance, etc. while others were written from an almost philosophical standpoint, while others focused on lands and cultures explored.

I was curious to read some your favorites. What are your favorite cruising blogs?

Here are a few of mine:

Indigo Moon: Indigo Moon - Mile Markers

Adamo: The Adamo Adventure

Uliad: Welcome to Uliad.net

There are plenty of others, though. These just a few of the recent ones I’ve read and liked.

I enjoy reading blogs also. I like ones that update daily, not weekily or monthly. I especially like following Bill Deitrich's blog. He has a large archive of boat info also. Very useful.

Sweet, another thread full of reading material. Love it.

I would like to second zerotocruising.com and add:

1) Bumfuzzle's sailing trip in which a couple with little sailing experience set out to circumnavigate on a catamaran and learned en route - trip completed. I've linked to the beginning of the trip in 2003.

2) Syzygy who are getting ready to leave this week. Three friends bought a project boat and this is a story that makes one glad one didn't buy a project boat! I'm excited to keep following them as they take off.

3) Narrated still photos in video format from Stinky Feet's completed circumnavigation. Beautiful, exciting, inspiring.

PS - I wish more blogs on people's own websites had RSS feeds so I could keep track of them with a feed reader. I"m much less likely to go back to the site to check for new posts but I'm highly likely to keep it in my google reader and be informed of new posts.

I've actually read quite a bit of your blog over the last couple of days. Great site! Good luck on your upcoming cruise. I'll follow along via your blog, for sure.

Dietrich started me down the road I'm on as a liveaboard
6 years ago. His short, day by day entries tell it all. The good
bad and indifferent. But I'm my opinion, nothing compares
with Buddy and Melissa's 'Indigo Moon'. I think it helps that they
are genuinely good folks that appreciate the wonderful life
they lead. Buddy better watch himself though...
He's giving lawyers a good name!

Thanks Homespun, and thanks also to SVLetitgo for the initial plug earlier in the thread!
