| Cruising Seminar Advanced Cruising Seminar ~ From Bob Bitchin at “Latitudes and Attitudes” magazine, as posted at the Lats & Atts forum: ”It's that time again. On August 27-28th I will be bringing some of the most experienced sailors on earth (on the ocean?) in for our once-a-year Advanced Cruising Seminar. Two full days with folks like Tania Aebi, Captain Woody, Captain Jack Klang, John Kretschsmer, "Big John" Aydelotte and more. Of course we can't have all work and no play, so Saturday night we will have a waterfront barbeque with Eric Stone playing live. It'll all take place at the World Conglomerate Headquarters of Lats & Atts, located just up the dock from the pumpout station at the Portofino Hotel & Yacht Club, just 15 minutes from LAX, on the water. Sail in's are welcome, and anchorage is available. There is still time to sign up. Just call the office. 888-8-WE SAIL (888-893-7245), or download the application on the website and mail it in. LACC members get a discount, of course!” Magazine: http://www.latsandatts.net/ Forum: http://206.131.241.61/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi

| SSCA GAM - Nov. 11-13
From Bluewater Books and Charts ~ Meet us at the Dragon ~ SSCA GAM http://www.bluewaterweb.com/newslett...05_2events.asp On November 11-13, we’ll be at the annual Seven Seas Cruising Association Gam in Melbourne, FL. SSCA members fly and sail to this event from all over the world, and see it as the kick-off of the cruising season. Melbourne has always been a great location for the event, as many cruisers stop there and anchor by "The Dragon" on their way south for the winter. The SSCA has lined up a great series of events this year, including guest speakers and seminars. Among the speakers are many authors that our customers will be familiar with. Nigel Calder, author of the Boatowners Mechanical and Electrical Manual will be there, and so will Kathy Parsons, author of Spanish for Cruisers. Remember that you need to register with the SSCA to attend this event. We’ll be easy to find—look for our table in the vendor section, and stop by for a free catalog, free book and chart information, and free conversation.
