I'd go with these two from Jimmy Cornell:

Amazon.com: World Cruising Routes: Sixth Edition (9780071592895): Jimmy Cornell: Books

Amazon.com: World Cruising Handbook (0639785801733): Jimmy Cornell: Books

One is all the routes, the other is good info on what to expect when you there. http://noonsite.org is pretty up to date as well.

That post by Breana is taken almost word for word from a Lowell Thomas site regarding a guidebook for selecting a trip on a cruise ship.

I think someone is confused as to what "Cruisers Forum" is.

Another Jimmy Cornell would be " A Passion for the Sea" Reflections on three Circumnavigations.
ISBN 978-0-9556396-0-9

The books are valuable...to people already underway. You really need to skip the books and just go, You'll quiclky learn the books are half wrong, half outdated, half right :-)

Paperwork changes, marinas appear and disappear, fuel comes and goes, but it just doesn't really matter. It all works out. And the cruiser community is the most valuable source of info and rumor.

I've been in SE Asia for a few months now. Haven't looked at a book. Got 'em. But haven't used them. Friends tell me what I need to know.

Even the weather info is half useless. It's either nice or it's not. Bad and good happen at any time.
