Any Good 'New' Books?

My wife and I are planning to live aboard in about another year, and are reading everything we can get our hands on. We have read everything from the Pardy's and Herb Payson. Are there any comprable books to these that have been written within the last ten years.

Hi Ready2go,

My wife and I have been "dreaming" about cruising for a number of years and we are voracious readers, two that we have found are quite good are Lisa Copeland and Suzanne Giesemann. Wonderful perspectives from the partners point of view. Lots of humour and good info from both.

I really like Beth Leonard's books. In MY opinion she is one of the few sailors who REALLY knows how to write as well.

One of my wife's and my favorites is An Embarrassment of Mangoes, by Ann Vanderhoof. It really captures the flavor of cruising in the Lesser Antilles. When we cruised that area, we found ourselves pulling out the book and re-reading chapters that related to where we were, chuckling at our similar experiences.

My mom wrote a book about their circumnavigation called "The Oceans are Waiting" by Sharon Ragle. you can find it on Amazon, or PM me if you want an autographed one.

I second Embarrasment of Mangoes. I loved that book. Also, It's your Boat too was informative and entertaining.

I second what has been written about Beth Leonard's books. She is an excellent writer.
