A Book which will make you laugh your socks off

A BERTRAM THE AEGEAN AND TWO VIRGINS A book of short stories about two Greek island novices, their battered old Bertram and the chaos and confusion they encounter as they weave their way around the islands.
If you've always wanted to cruise the Greek Islands read this and opt to play golf instead.
Available from Amazon, Kindle, iBooks , Smashwords as a download.
Enjoy, and don't laugh so loud you keep your partner awake.

Ah, well, yes...

I didn't understand from the introduction that it was about MOTOR boating.
The liberal use of the words "sailor" and "yacht" and "yachting" in the introduction had me assuming it was about sailing.

In my part of the world those words are associated only with boating where sails are involved.

I guess motor boaters know that a Bertram is a motor boat, but not me. Why would i?

Once i realised that i thought I'd have a read anyway. But by half way through chapter 2 i called it a day.

No offense meant, and no criticism of the author or the writing style intended, but it's not my bag baby. I got a refund from Amazon.

That said, i hope you sell a million of them Bertramdriver, and that the cruising kitty never runs out mate.

Hi Matt. Sorry you were disappointed but if you had pressed on you would have found many stories in the book about sailing yachts and sailing people.
During my life I have enjoyed both, and have found the environments similar although the mechanics differ. I switched from sail to motor after three days on a J44 six months after smashing my knees up in a car crash. At first I was depressed but have found that driving a motor boat equally enjoyable and the people as interesting.
Nevertheless I wish you well for the future

Ya know, the schism between motorists and sailors is so overrated and something I don't get. I get it that motorboats go to windward much better, as do airplanes and cars, but isn't being on the water the tie that binds? Between my dad and three brothers, there are 38 boats between us. From pirogues to CC's to sailboats, its the right tool for the right job. Read all, learn much.

Yeah, I might have been a bit hasty.

I was grumpy about something else, unrelated.
And to tell the truth, as an Aussie kindle owner we get the short end of the stick, in as much as of the 450k titles available only 150k are licensed for Oz. meaning the "good e-reads" thread on CF has several books I can't get. It's frustrating.

So when I find one, I'm a bit excited.

As a wannabe, still a couple of years away from the life aquatic, what I'm after is going to bed with some dream fodder.
Some narrative about someone I can relate to, who succeeded in doing what I hope to do.

I gotta feed the dream, see? Keep it alive and nurture it.

So as I said, I was probably a bit hasty getting a refund.
Sorry Bertram, I might give it another crack.
